WelcomeSunday 14 December 2008 at Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Queensland The Kurrawa to Duranbah race is South East Queensland's major running event before the Christmas break. It's normally quite hot at that time of year which is why we start the race at 0500 hours. It is conducted along the scenic Gold Coast beachfront, one of the foremost beachfronts in the world. Join the fun and excitement of the weekend. If you're not up to running the 50km event, there is a 25 km option which you can run either as a solo or with a team-mate, one running the out leg, the other the return leg. And, if it gets too hot, jump in the ocean for a quick cool-down. You will find the water temperature a pleasant 21 degrees celsius. Treat yourself to a mini break on this weekend. Many use it to mark the commencement of the wind-down for the Christmas holidays. The Gold Coast is Australia's premier tourist destination with something for everyone. There is ample reasonably priced accommodation nearby as well as the world acclaimed Pacific Fair shopping centre, the magnificent Sofitel hotel, the Broadbeach mall with its many coffee shops and, of course, the Conrad Jupiters Casino. The world renowned theme parks of the Gold Coast will complete the holiday for those who feel so inclined.
