WelcomeThe Mini Kokoda has been designed as a training event for the fast growing Kokoda Challenge. It is situated on legs 5 and 6 of the Kokoda Challenge course and the date is set at 4 weeks prior to the main event. The start / finish of the event is situated in the village of Numinbah on the Nerang-Murwillimbah road and is nestled between the Lamington and Springbrook plateaus which form part of the famous Scenic Rim. The Scenic Rim is the name given to the rim of an ancient volcano with a circumference of 150 kms of which Mt Warning is the remnant of the central volcanic plug. The area is set among World Heritage listed areas including the ancient Gondwana rain forests and boasts rugged mountian ranges, numerous waterfalls and stunning views. The purpose of the Kokoda Challenge is to raise moneys for a youth leadership program. Do your part to help the kids, using this event as a prelude to the main Kokoda Challenge in mid July. This event is only 29km but, be prepared, it is hilly and rugged. The main event will be every bit as tough and three times longer so, if you you hope to finish the main event, then this training exercise is essential.
